Brandon + Heather|Wedded Bliss

I'm sure you remember Brandon and Heather. I did their engagement pictures back in October. I have been so excited to show you their winter nuptials... and here they are!

Brandon and Heather's big day finally arrived on December 17th. The weather cooperated perfectly for their winter-themed wedding celebration. Snow flurries were beginning to fall as I arrived at the church! It was as if they had planned it! Heather was already bustling around inside the church getting ready! So, I headed inside to capture the wedding excitement...

My little sister, Olivia, second shot for me for the first time and captured this image of Heather! Stunning!

Brandon and Heather decided to do a "first look" before the wedding ceremony. I highly recommend this to all brides! My husband and I did this and we had alot more time for pictures! When it comes down to it pictures are all you have left from your wedding day, really ... So it is well worth it! Since the weather was so cold (and when I say cold I mean COLD!) Brandon and Heather decided to do their first look inside the church...

After a few more shots inside the church we headed to downtown Noblesville with the bridal party!

After nearly freezing to death I sent the bridal party (except the bride and groom of course) back to the warmth of the church. Brandon and Heather braved the frigid weather with me and we got some shots of the happy couple...

My family spent this past weekend in Shipshewana, Indiana, (amish country) since my mom had two Christmas Piano Extravaganza concerts... My sister, Brooklyn, and her husband William got to come along as well, and she asked if I would be willing to get some shots of them for their Christmas card AND their first anniversary that's coming up on December 10th. I was more than willing...

I loved the outfits they chose. So warm and festive!

Manning Family | Christmas Mini Session

I have known Doug and Dawn quite a while. Dawn actually went to the same college as my dad, and has also promoted several concerts for us in Canada! They were visiting some friends in the Grand Rapids area close to where I live for a baby dedication; So, Dawn contacted me about doing a Christmas mini session for them....

We met up at a beeaaauuuutiful Christmas tree farm. Complete with a huge red barn all decorated for Christmas.

Meet Clark, the Manning's eldest kiddo... He is so sweet, and a complete bundle of energy! :)

parents have been bringing her to concerts since she was 2 DAYS old...

My Thanksgiving break was wonderful. The husband and I spent dinner with his family on Thanksgiving day here in Michigan. Then we drove to Cincinnati to spend the weekend with my family! We got to go to the lighting of the Christmas tree in downtown Cinci. A huge highlight for me! I even got to do a little Black Friday shopping. I'm almost completely done with my Christmas shopping, actually. Don't be jealous... I am usually waiting 'til the week before Christmas. This year is a complete (and wonderful) exception. :)

Ten Things I am OH So Thankful For.

1. A loving husband who is everything I ever wanted.

2. Parents (and family) that go above and beyond.

3. Photography. A way to let out my creativity.

4. A warm, dry, lovely place to live.

5. Salvation!

6. Fall. My favorite season.

7. Music. My life would be completely different (and wrong) without it.

8. All things vintage.

9. Boots. I have an obsession.

10. The two best jobs in the world. Singer and photographer.

We only managed to get one shot on Thanksgiving day together, but it'll do. My wonderful husband (Michael) and me!

Brandon + Heather | Engagement Session

This photo shoot is pretty special to me for a couple reasons... Number one, because Brandon is my cousin, and number two... It is one of the most creative photo shoots I have done in a while (thanks to Brandon's super creative fiance, Heather). For those of you who don't know... Brandon is not only my cousin, but also my family's sound engineer. He travels with us full time and does a fabulous job at the sound board... Brandon and Heather are getting married on December 17th, and I will be shooting the wedding. We met up for their engagement session on a gorgeous October day...

Heather sent me some ideas she had for the photo shoot ahead of time... These balloons were one of her fabulous ideas!

Brandon and Heather's smiles are just plain contagious!

We got some cute shots outside of the Cincinnati Museum, and were hoping to go underground to the trainstation to get some shots, but unfortunately it wasn't open yet... Soooo we headed downtown.

I've said it once.. I'll say it twice... I just love street shots!

Colored doors are my favorite... I can spot one from a mile away. This

one just happened to match their outfits quite perfectly.

Check out those books... Brandon is a graphic designer on the side. Such a fun idea to use them as Heather's "step stool"... Love it.

Love this out-of-the-ordinary angle! Some people laugh at me when I say "That would make a great picture spot" :)

A few months back my mom-in-law, Janis, and my husband's aunt, Bonnie, asked me to do their boys' (Matt and Nate) senior pictures this year. We got together on a beautiful fall day in October and did both photo sessions together. Since Matt and Nate are cousins they kept each other laughing, and we got some great shots!

Travis Theaderman | 2012 Senior

Meet Travis Theaderman... I have had the privelage of getting to know his family over the past couple years. About two years ago I received an e-mail from Travis' mom, Jana, who asked if I would be willing to do her daughter, Jessica's, senior pictures.The next year Jana contacted me again and asked me to do pictures for their family's Christmas card... The entire family is super sweet and easy to work with... I was back in town (Cincinnati) for a few days because of my singing/travel schedule... So, when Jana contacted me about doing Travis' senior pictures I was all for it.

We started the photo shoot in Cincinnati at a little place called Mt. Adams.

Mt. Adams has so many cool walls, textures, etc. It's crazy that it was only my second time to shoot in this area.

Christina Garza | 2012 Senior

It's been a whirlwind of a summer. As most of you already know... I got married in June, made a move to Grand Rapids, Michigan, flew to Calgary, Alberta, to sing for a convention, flew to Europe to sing in Sweden, and have sung almost every other weekend in the U.S. somewhere. I have done alot of photo shoots, but unfortunately they haven't made any appearances on the blog due to the lack of time to actually sit down and organize all the photos, etc... So, instead of trying to catch up from all my spring/summer shoots, I am just going to start with my current photo shoots from September and on... and try to stay caught up from here on out... :) Bear with me.

One of my first photo shoots this Fall was a sweet girl named Christina. I have known her grandparents for several years. They have come to many concerts and always been so sweet, but I had never really "met" their granddaughter, Christina...

After touring all over the country/continent from Mexico, Florida, and Louisiana... all the way to Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta, Canada... I am finally BACK in town doing photo shoots! Here is my first photo shoot since I've been back... The sweet Heintzelman family! Duane and Katie have the cutest boys, Michael and Wesley! They reminded me so much of my brother when he was younger... LOTS of energy! :) But they were not camera shy that's for sure... We had so much fun!

Michael and Molly Howard | Contest Winners...

You may remember wayyy back in November on Thanksgiving Day I had a photography giveaway contest on my Facebook fan page . I received over 120 entries (Ya'll are the best Facebook fans ever!)...

This cute little couple, Michael and Molly Howard, whom I happen to already know personally, WON the contest! The giveaway included an entire photoshoot and CD-rom of all their photos! Michael and Molly are sweet newlyweds as of last summer, and in fact their anniversary will be in the same month as me and my fiance!

We met on a chilly January day and shot some super fun (and CUTE) photos...

Webb Family | Christmas Mini Session

Most of you will know who the Webb Family is... Roy Webb has played the piano for some very well-known southern gospel quartets such as, Signature Sound and Gold City! He has played along with my mom in the Grand Piano Extravaganza in Shipshewana, Indiana, and has also performed several years at the Parade of Pianos at the National Quartet Convention! Not only is he a great pianist and musician, he's a pretty cool guy as well! He has become quite well-known for his sarcastic/hilarious humor. I've been able to get to know him through concerts, etc. and occasionally he will bring along his family! Let me just tell you that they are every bit as cool as Roy himself... When they asked me to do their Christmas pictures I immediately accepted!

Theaderman Family | Christmas Mini Session

A few months ago the Theaderman family contacted me about doing a photo session of them while their daughter Jessica was home from college over Thanksgiving break. You might recognize Jessica... I did her senior portraits last spring. You can see those photos HERE.

We started out at the Theadermans' house. It was the day before Thanksgiving, and unfortunately the weather decided it just did not want to get along with us! It was a constant downpour almost the entire photo session. So, we did several shots on their front porch...

Since the weather STILL didn't want to agree with us we decided to meet up after Thanksgiving and finish up the photos before Jessica headed back to college!

Surprisingly, after all the rain that week there were STILL some gorgeous, colorful leaves on the trees!

Pink and Zebra Babies | Children Photography

This year at my family Thanksgiving I decided I wanted to try something out! I hadn't done any baby photo shoots in a while, so I contacted my three cousins who all have kids! I asked if I could get some shots of their little cuties! I told them I would bring my own backdrop and props, just bring the kids dressed! :) They were all for it... So here are a few of my favorite shots!

I started out with my cute little cousin, Kaitlynn!

This girl is so sweet, and actually smiles for the camera!

This is a photo that I had snapped earlier in the day, and even though it's not posed or perfect I though her eyes were AMAZING. So, I just couldnt leave it out, could I?!

My next "subject" was sweet little, Rylee! She is only 8 months old!

Can't get enough of this sweet little face!!! Oh, and I'm pretty sure by the looks of Rylee's shirt that she had been into the Thanksgiving food!! :)

FAVORITE... and NO! I didn't edit those eyes! Aren't they gorgeous?!

The last little cutie I got to take pictures of is my cousin, Madi! She is a little older than the Katelynn and Rylee and is very active! :) She insisted on getting a photo with my family's puppy, Spanky! Priceless!!

Keep Family | Family Portraits

When my Uncle Tim and Aunt Becky asked me if I wanted to take their family's pictures this month I immediately said YES! Number one, I just love this family, and two... They are extremely photogenic! How could I say no?! Tim and Becky have five kids, Val - 20, Timothy - 16, Jesse - 13, Carolyn - 7, and Samantha (Sammi) - 5!

While the rest of the family was still getting ready I took Carrie and Samantha in the backyard to get some shots of just them!

These two are basically inseperable!

AH! I'm in love with these two little girls!

Does it get any cuter than this?!... I think not!

After we got some shots of the whole family I wanted to get some of all the kids together...

Like I said... PHOTOGENIC! This is every photographer's dream!

Before we left for our second location I got a couple shots of the boys!

This is Timothy! He's 16 years old and a Junior in highschool. He plays on his highschool basketball team with my brother, and is a great role model for any teenage guy!

Meet Jesse! He is 13 years old. For those of you who don't know... Jesse was born with a rare form of cancer called retinoblastoma (cancer of the eyes). Jesse has been blind since the age of 3. He is by far one the most inspiring kids I have ever known! Since he lost his sight Jesse has become a FANTASTIC pianist! He even composes some of his own pieces! Watch out! This kid will be famous one day! :)

The past three weeks have been nothing short of a whirlwind! I had three senior photo shoots within a week's time (which really doesn't sound like much... but with all of the photo editing that I do, etc. it has kept me crazy busy! But I love it...)

With this blog post I will officially be caught up on all my photo editing... Until tomorrow that is... when I have another photo shoot! :)

Michelle contacted me several months ago. At the time I had never actually met Michelle in person, but she had seen my work on Facebook, etc. Michelle lives in Kansas... She told me she would be visiting Cincinnati in October and asked if I would be willing to do her Senior portraits. I told her I would love to, and we set up a time and location...

We started out in my hometown... There are so many old buildings, and great photo spots!

Meet the lovely Miss Allyson Moore... I met her at youth camp several years ago before I even "got into" photography! I remember thinking she was so sweet and easy to get along with! Allyson lives in Indiana, so we really didn't see each other or talk again until about a month ago when Allyson contacted me to do her Senior pictures... Allyson's parents and sister drove her all the way from Indy to Cinci just to get her photos done! We met up in a cute little suburb of Cinci and got some super fun shots!

Josh's Mom, Erica, contacted me a few weeks ago and asked me if I had any slots open for her son. Josh is a senior this year, and she wanted to go ahead and get his senior portraits done. Erica also told me that Josh is not a huge fan of gettin his picture taken... So, she asked if she could bring along his girlfriend, Lauren, to help him smile... I'm a big fan of natural smiles, so I said YES, please... bring her! :)

Come to find out Josh was quite a natural in front of the camera, and having his girlfriend there only brought out the smiles even more (and laughing)! :) Thanks for coming along, Lauren!

Like I said.. he's a total natural! This smile definitely had something to do with a pretty little brunette standing to the left of my camera though! ;)

I did a photo shoot at these doors when I first started into photography... I'm not a big fan of repeating locations, but I couldn't pass it up with Josh's outfit!

I have known Joel and Mandy almost my entire life. I met Mandy's family when I was six years old. My family had just moved to Cincinnati, and our dads both worked at the same college!

I don't even remember meeting Joel. Our families have known each other practically our entire lives. My family used to go to his church and sing at their revivals. Then, we would go over to Joel's house to eat Sunday dinner and listen to Adventures in Odyssey stories with Joel... So, after all this history with Joel and Mandy it's kinda crazy to be the one shooting their wedding!

Joel and Mandy went to the same college together that Mandy and I's dads worked at... :) and after a few years of dating they decided to tie the knot! We started out with an engagement session... You can see their engagement session HERE .
And then FINALLY the big day! September 25th, 2010...

Meet my new friends, Philip and Megan! A few weeks ago this sweet couple got engaged. Megan contacted me about doing an engagement session for them a few days later. Megan also asked me to pick the location for their engagement pictures... When I told her where we were going for the photos Megan told me that I had picked the exact place where they had gotten engaged! I guess we are on the same wave length... Kinda weird, huh? :)

This past weekend my sweet (and multi-talented) friend, Erica Grant, flew up to Cincinnati to help me out. I was shooting a wedding, and Erica just happens to be a very talented photographer (You can see some of her work HERE). So, I asked her if she would be willing to fly up to Cinci and be my assistant for the weekend. She agreed, and I couldn't have been more thrilled. (Photos from the wedding will be coming to the blog SOON!)

While Erica was here she also asked me if I would shoot some promo photos of her for her photography blog and website... and, of course, I said, "YES!" Erica is one of those people who you can't help but LOVE... As you'll see in the photos below she has her very own unique style and personality... All of which I'm a huge fan of!

Erica and I were driving who knows where one day and saw this truck parked by the road. We both agreed that it would be the perfect spot to begin her photo session. :)

Since Erica is a photographer she automatically knows what looks good in FRONT of the camera... I didn't need to tell her how to pose! She was a total natural!

I was visiting my fiance in Michigan a few weeks ago, and Suzy, a lady from his work, asked Michael if I would be willing to do a photo shoot of some of her kids. Suzy has six (beautiful) kids. Suzy scheduled me to take photos of her four youngest kids, Kennedy, Savannah, Chance, and Delaney. Each of the kids have their very own unique personality... and they are all adorable to boot! We had so much fun... The entire photo shoot was pretty much spent just running around the park and playing!

Let's just start out with my favorite shot of all of the kids... I think this one should go in the living room, Mom!

Kennedy is the oldest of the four younger kids. :) She was so sweet, photogenic, and only 12 years old!

Just a few days ago my sweet friend, April, got ahold of me to let me know that she was going to be in the Cinci area this week! We had been talking about how much we wanted to get some photos of the Cincinnati skyline at night! Since April was already going to be in the area we decided to get together around 9 o'clock when the sun was going down and "shoot" Cincinnati! :) It turned out to be the PERFECT night for photos! Just a few weeks ago Ivone Garcia contacted me and told me that her close friend, Gloria, had graduated from college and was going back to her home of Mexico for about a month or so, then moving to Japan to accept a teaching position. Meet the sweet Miller family! :) I have known them for several years! Daniel and Rachael have been married for almost 5 years, and about 10 months ago sweet baby Carson joined the family. :) Rachael contacted me last month and wanted to schedule a photo shoot, and told me that they wanted to do a "western" theme. This year, just like the past few years, I spent Memorial Day weekend in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, with my family singing at Gaither Family Fest. It is one of the highlights of my year! We get to spend time with all our sweet music friends, and even be tourists a little! We are usually never in one town long enough to enjoy the sites... :) So, Family Fest is always a nice "breather"!

This year my sweet boyfriend, Michael, got to come with me to Tennessee! William, my sister's fiance`, came too! Michael had never been to Family Fest, and hadn't been to Gatlinburg since he was probably 11 or 12 years old! We had a great time together, and like always we took a million pictures!

This year for Mother's Day I decided to design mom a coffee table album of photos of our family. This was my first BIG project in photoshop... Several of the pictures are professional photos by other photographers, but alot of them are photos I have taken. :) I was SO happy with how it turned out. About a year ago I met a girl named Heather Chapple at a music convention (Singing in the Sun) that my family was singing at. She was performing there at one of the showcases. Since then she has come to several of our concerts, etc... She has given me Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, and "just because" gifts. She is one of the most giving people I know... When Heather talked to me about possibly doing her new CD cover shoot of course I said yes.... Here are the results!

Natalie - 2010 Senior

Last summer my cousin, Natalie, asked me to do her Senior photos. When I went to visit her in the Fall our photo session ended up getting canceled due to some conflicts, so we rescheduled for this Spring when she came to visit me (this week) ... :) Unfortunately, it rained BOTH days we tried to take pictures. In spite of the rain, we ventured out and shot some photos in the rain with an umbrella. Then, on the second day of photos we took some indoor studio shots since it was still pouring the rain. At the end of the session the sun came out, so Natalie changed clothes and we headed outside! :) Here are the results:

I said yes, of course!! Ally and I have been buds ever since we were little. We were always the mischevious ones in the fam! :) It's crazy to think that she is getting ready to tie the knot this coming August!

We met up in Dayton, OH, and wandered around 'til we found some nice photo spots... Luke and Ally are so easy to work with, and it wasn't hard to make them look good with their pretty eyes and flawless skin!

We started out at the local park/courtyard at the Crowne Plaza dowtown... There were tons of cute little spots.

I LOVE how they laugh at each other all the time. This picture captures their personality!

Back in February I was asked to take maternity pics of Regina Baker (my cousin)... Last Thursday her sweet little bundle, Rylee Joy, was born! :) She is an April Fool's Day baby! As soon as Regi was feeling a little better she contacted me to do Rylee's newborn photos. We had an awesome time, and here are some of my favs!

Jessica Theaderman - Senior...

I received a message via my website about a month ago from Jana Theaderman (Jessica's mom). They were running late on Senior pictures and a friend from work had recommended me for Jessica's photos. I was more than happy to do it! We got together on a gorgeous spring day and spent the afternoon walking around the streets of New Richmond snapping photos. There were lots of cute little photo spots... Jessica you're so sweet! Thanks again for letting me take your photos, girl!

This was the cutest little riverfront ice cream shop! They kindly let us do whatever we wanted/use their store for photos! Thanks so much, ya'll!

After a quick outfit change we did some shots in her school shirt. :)

Loved this construction bobcat/tractor thing... Whatever it was... it worked!

Time for another outfit change... and then we headed to Jessica's church for some instrument shots. She plays obo and piano!

I believe this may be one of my favorite shots... I wish I had a picture of myself standing on the back of the piano bench! HA.

Over the past few weeks, my Uncle Tim and Aunt Becky have been to visit from Virginia twice! They brought along their little girl, Samantha, both times! She is SUCH a doll. I think everytime someone meets her the first thing they notice is her hair... It is just a mess of blonde curls, and I love it! I always tell her how I wish I had her hair! :) What a sweetie. Every year the city of Cincinnati puts out a book called "Capture Cincinnati". It's basically a book full of pictures that define Cincinnati. Every single one of these photos are submitted by everyday people that live in Cinci.

Last week I had the privelage of taking my beautiful cousin, Valerie's, senior pictures! She was a gorgeous model, and we had a blast wondering around town finding the right spots for her pictures! We found some pretty neat spots... (Including a GORGEOUS bridge that we had to get permission to use, since it was on someone's personal property! What can I say? You do what you gotta do!)...
